Thank you Shawna!

Recently my son and daughter-in-law did some remodeling and ended up with several wonderful old windows. When they came to visit this summer they brought me one of the windows and I was told to decorate and use it however I liked.
So I cleaned it and it sat in my bedroom for awhile as I thought about what I would like to do with it.
Finally I collected some flowers from around my yard. Lavender, daisies, pansies, petunias, and other flowers the names of which I don't know.
I arranged them on a big cardboard panel that was covered with a piece of pellon, put another piece of pellon on top and then another cardboard panel and then stacked a bunch of heavy books on top evenly to weight it all down and left it for about 3 weeks.
Then I carefully took it all apart and used "Modge Podge" to glue all the flowers in place on the center pane of glass in the window. Of course I made a mess and ended up deciding to splatter the modge podge on and hope when it dried that it would look like raindrops....which surprisingly it is!!
Sweet hubby hung it up for me today with special hooks and screws (it is VERY heavy) and I couldn't wait to show you the pictures.
I may go get some "Galaxy Glass" which is a paint that you use on glass and it drys to look like stained glass and fill in the small panes around the outside of the window, but I will decide on that later.
Right now, thank you Damon and Shawna, each morning when I wake up, no matter what the season or weather outside, I will see spring right in my bedroom!

Sun and Rain

The wind has been blowing for about a week and a half now and then rain yesterday most of the day and this morning sunshine.
It is also alittle warmer.
So alot of snow is gone. Hurray!!!!!
But there is still some left and the ground is all soggy.
And Odie tracks in muddy footprints everywhere.
He comes in with big clumps of mud on his nose because he's been digging up old treasures he buried last spring. Ick!
We opened the chicken hatch yesterday even though there is still snow in the pen, and a few of them ventured out, ran to the small shelter (used to be the pig shed) and then back again.
At least they got some fresh air.
I even saw some green grass trying to come up where the snow has receded.
Spring at last!!

Leap Year

I guess the last day of the shortest month is here! It did go fast and was very full.
The sun is shining this morning, but there is a light breeze making it pretty cold, but maybe it will warm up alittle. At least the snow is shrinking! I actually saw some green grass, some dirt and some rocks! Maybe spring is coming after all.
Gary is slowly getting better, still has a cough and has to use the nebulizer, but he is up and around and we went for a drive yesterday to get out of the house. So far I haven't gotten it and I intend for it to stay that way!
It's Saturday and I can't seem to lose the habit of it being the "Day to get ready for Sun-n-nday" so I need to start laundry and vacuum, and all that other stuff.
The good thing for the day is I will have Gage and Luke for part of the day while Jinger and the baby get some rest.
